My approach to medicine work
I am all about transparency. It's important to me that you feel connected to me and my approach to this work before working together, so here's a little about me:
-
I started my healing journey over 20 years ago as a tool to help me integrate a particularly difficult childhood. I work with sacred medicines to lean in to life, not escape it.
-
I am trauma-informed, humanistic, and client-centered. I care about and incorporate spiritual, science-oriented and best human development practices into my work, as well as drawing from a myriad of creative tools, including parts work, somatic therapy, movement, music, etc.
-
I'm not woo woo or new age. While I appreciate crystals, chakras, pleiades medicine and visiting other dimensions, I'm not focused there. Instead, my focus is on helping people stay in their bodies, developing a love affair with their 3D lives and relationships, and being fully present for the miracle of existing in this moment. I'm not chasing enlightenment. Personally, I adore being human and hope to help others do the same.
-
I don't believe in the eradication of pain. It's a necessary (and even beautiful) part of the human experience and it's not going anywhere. However, we can develop a healthier relationship with it; we can learn how to make it our ally (and I deeply believe it is). For the most part, I believe that evil entities are projections of our inner worlds that deserve understanding and acceptance.
-
I don't care as much about people's medicine journeys as I care about how they incorporate their insights into their day-to-day lives in order to optimize their human experience. This is why preparation and integration work are fundamental focuses of my work. If we work together, please plan on devoting a lot of time to preparation and integration.
-
WE are the medicine, not the substance. Substances can help us remember that. In this vein, I'm not a healer. I don’t "fix" people and I won’t even try - that’s not my job and more importantly, I don't believe anyone is broken. I don't know what's true, right, or good for you, only you can know that - so I won't be "guiding" you to where I think you should go, I'll simply follow your lead and support your flow. I trust that your system knows best where to go, and I just want to support you as you learn how to listen to and honor your own inner-wisdom.
-
My goal is to create carefully crafted, safe, and nourishing environments where people feel supported, seen, loved, and free. These are the conditions I believe are most important for a meaningful journey.
-
I believe that the secret sauce of this work is simply love and acceptance for anything that shows up. I have developed a huge capacity to hold space for dark emotions and shadow. I encourage your full expression (so long as we're all safe).
-
I have a deep appreciation for the defense mechanisms that we've created to protect ourselves. Our "parts" that work to protect us need understanding, love, and compassion. Not judgment.
-
I have a long history with and deep respect for these medicines. This work is absolutely sacred to me and I take it very seriously. But while I feel confident in my role, we're all learning together on this path. We are equals in our unique contributions to the world and in our hopes to be the best versions of ourselves. I am not a fan of hierarchy. Collaboration and co-creation is where it's at for me.
-
I prefer to mix and match modalities and approaches. Also, I don't move fast with medicines, nor do I offer "hero's journeys." Instead, I like to move slow, taking small doses, and titrating up to your sweet spot. With this work, we can often objectify medicine - so it is really important to develop a relationship with the spirit of each medicine, connecting with it before use. With any ideal relationship, we'll go slow, we'll be deliberate, we'll be informed, we'll create the most ideal set and setting, and we'll build our trust in the medicine so we can go deep.
-
While I am careful and intuitive, I am also experimental and like to push boundaries. We grow through stretching ourselves and movement - which can be uncomfortable.
-
In this work, I am your humble servant for your learning and evolution. I'm not a Shaman, I'm not a Guru. I believe there isn't nor should ever be anything between you and your connection to Source. You are the medicine, you are the magic, and I hope I can support you in connecting to your truth. ✨
